B1072 - SOLD

This is a divine pair of antique French Cornely lace curtains dating from the 1800's. They are exquisitely pretty and would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a boudoir.

The textile is a very fine cotton muslin and is absolutely covered in a beautiful design of flowers and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch.

The curtains are full and plumptious. They are scalloped at the bottom and at at the meeting edge. The tops are prettily ruched and have hooks sewn onto them.

The curtains are beautifully clean and are a gorgeous pale colour which is not quite blue or grey or violet. Not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, there are one or two minor holes and a scattering of repairs (please see photos). The repairs have been painstakingly and lovingly done and just add character to these divine antique curtains.

Each curtain measures :- 221 cm (7 ft 3 inches) long x 56 cm (22 inches) wide across the top & 155 cm (5 ft 1 inch) across the bottom.

A divine frothy pair of French Cornely lace curtains to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
