B1089 - Impressive Tall Pair Antique French Gilded Spelter Church Pricket Candlesticks, 19th C

This is a tall and impressive pair of antique French church pricket candlesticks dating from the 19th Century. They would have stood on the church altar but would now make a very stylish addition to a château chic interior.

They are very decorative and detailed. Each one sits on three sturdy feet. The base is triangular and has a blue painted cross to each side. The column has an intricate Fleur De Lys design. The bobeche are of a generous size to take a large candle.

The candlesticks are made of spelter and are gilded. The gilding has mellowed and patinated over the years to wonderful effect.

Whether placed on a simple country buffet or a grand enfilade these gorgeous candlesticks will look stunning.

Each candlestick measures :- H 70 cm (27.5 inches) to the top of the spike x 17.5 cm (7 inches) along one side of the base.
