This is a sublime antique French vanity mirror dating from the early to mid 1900's. It would be perfect on a dressing table but could also be used as a travelling mirror as it would slip easily into a case.
The mirror has a decorative oval brass frame with a gorgeous bow and ribbon tail crest. This is mounted on a rectangular back plate which is covered in velvet in a lovely shade of teal.
The back of the mirror and it's mount are covered in a rather smart leatherette. There is a sturdy back rest and a loop for hanging on a wall.
All is in good order. The glass is clear. The velvet has faded just a little with the passage of time.
The mirror together with it's back plate measures:- 20.5 cm (8 inches) high x 15.5 cm (6.25 inches) wide.
A sublime & useful little mirror for a dressing table or travelling. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French accessories, textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'!
