B1158 - SOLD
These are 3 superb long panels of an antique French heavy textured cotton textile dating from the Napoleon III era circa 1860. The textile is in amazing condition and looks like it has never been used. We also have a pair of very long curtains, B1157, made in this fabric listed in our other items.
The textile is very striking. It has alternating bands of two different designs. The wider stripe has gorgeous flowers and leaves in beautiful shades of raspberry and dark cream which look superb against the black background. The narrower stripe has an intricate floral vignette in shades of raspberry, blue and cream on a tan background. The resultant effect is stunning.
The textile is lovely and crisp and hangs beautifully. The colours are bright and beautiful with no fading.
Each panel has a selvedge to either side and could quickly be made into a curtain. Two of the panels are hemmed to the top and bottom. We can find just 4 nail holes at the top of the unhemmed panel.
The panels are all 80 cm (31.5 inches) wide. One of the hemmed panels is 198 cm (6ft 6 inches) long, the other is 192 cm (6 ft 3.5 inches) long. The unhemmed panel is 200 cm (6 ft 6.75 inches) long.
A gorgeous set of textile panels to add an authentic château chic finishing touch to an interior. They are from a carefully selected collection of antique & vintage French textiles, curtains & curtain accessories, and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'!
