This is a gorgeous vintage French silk  lampshade oozing 1950's glamour. It would be perfect in a boudoir or a salon. It is of  fabulous quality and bears a PARIS label.

The shade is covered in a beautiful smooth silk textile with a black background and a floral design of deep pink and cream flowers and green tendril leaves.

The top of the lampshade is trimmed with a black passementerie overlain with a green passementerie. The bottom of the lampshade is similarly trimmed with the addition of a two tone green and black fringe. The effect is breathtaking!

The interior of the shade is lined with a champagne coloured silk. Here we find the label 'Axelle PARIS'.

The shade is in very good vintage condition. The metal fitting has patinated with the passage of time and the lining has some subtle signs of age in the form of a little darkening in places. There are no tears or wear to the textile.

The lampshade measures 36 cm (14 inches) across the bottom and 23 cm (9 inches) across the top.

The length of the side is 27 cm (10.5 inches) plus the fringe which is 2.5 cm (1 inch).

When sitting on a flat surface the lampshade measures 27 cm (10.5 inches) vertically.

We have photographed it on a 50 cm (19.5 inches) high lamp (not included). The wire fitting will fit a standard size modern lamp.
