This is a superb antique French tooled leather letter rack dating from the early to mid 1900's. It is a very handsome piece and would grace the grandest of executive desks.

The leather is in rich mid browns and is very tactile. It is exquisitely tooled. It has extensive decorative scrolled gilding to all the edges on all 4 sides, thus enabling the piece to sit in the middle of a desk.  We have left the leather as we found it - softly scuffed with the passage of time but it could be waxed and polished to a high gloss finish if required.

The rack has 3 slots to take letters. The base is covered in brown baize.

The rack is in good antique condition and is sturdy. The leather is sound with just a little extra scuffing to one corner (please see photos).

It measures 27.5 cm (10.75 inches) wide x 18 cm (7 inches) high x 12 cm (4.75 inches) deep.
