This is a gorgeous set of 4 antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are intricate pieces of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal. The fascia and backplate of the hook have a beautiful shell and scrolled design.

The gilding on the metal is still shiny and catches the light beautifully. There is some patination and even an area of verdigris which just adds character to these lovely old pieces.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.

They measure approx. :- H 14 cm (5.5 inches) x W 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) x D 13 cm (5 inches) .
