This is a stunning vintage French tapestry wall hanging dating from the mid 1900's. It is huge and has a fabulous 18th Century rural hunting scene. It would create a fantastic focal point ia a room and would certainly add a château chic finishing touch.

The scene is set in a beautiful wooded valley with a château in the background. In the foreground are a group of superbly dressed noblefolk mounted on their steeds. They are beside a lake where there is lots of action and their dogs run around them in excitement.

The colours are very atmospheric. Ochres and blues dominate the scene against which the pinks in the costumes contrast perfectly.

The tapestry is woven in amazing detail. See the little flowers in the foreground.

The tapestry is in excellent vintage condition. It is made of wool and linen and hangs beautifully. It has a tape sewn across the top by which it has, in the past, been attached to a batten.

It measures :- 181 cm (5ft 11.25 inches) wide x 147 cm (4ft 9.75 inches) high.
