This is a superb antique French display stand. It was originally used for medals and would now also be perfect for displaying jewellery.

The stand has a beautiful carved wood fluted frame with a scrolled crest.

The display pad has it's original sumptuous champagne coloured velvet and is piped round the edge. There are five rows of  tiny hooks (28 hooks in total) on which the medals or jewellery can be hung.

At the back of the stand is a substantial support which has a thumbscrew to adjust it's position. There are 3 screws (one is missing) holding the fascia of the stand to the back.

The stand is sturdy and substantial. The velvet has faded and darkened in places as one would expect and is gorgeous as it is or could perhaps be recovered if required.

The stand  measures :- 27 cm (10.5 inches) high x 22 cm (8.75 inches) wide.

This is a gorgeous display stand and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
