This is a sublime antique French religious wax bust of  the Madonna & Child dating from the late 1800's, early 1900's.  It is a very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to a religious display.

Mary is very beautiful and serene. She holds her gorgeous child with long elegant fingers. She has long wavy hair which flows down her shoulder. Her mantle is in a sublime shade of teal and frames the Holy Pair. Her gown is in a deep shade of red and has a gilded collar.

Both Mother and Child are blessed with a lovely halo, once edged with gilding but now faded with the passage of time.

Jesus has lovely curly hair and a sweet face. He is moulded in beautiful detail - see his tiny toes!

The colours on the piece look stunning against the creamy iridescense of the natural wax.

The bust is in good antique condition and measures :- H 20 cm (8 inches) x W 15 cm (6 inches) x D 9.5 cm ( 3.75 inches).
