B1297 - SOLD

This is a sublime antique French plaster stautue of Mary, The Madonna dating from the early 1900's. She is a rare find as she stands over 60 cm (2 ft) high and is in good antique condition. The statue is a very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to an architectural or religious display.

Mary has a beautiful serene face with a lovely blush to her cheeks. Her beautiful blue eyes are cast upwards and above them her eyebrows are finely arched. A pair of red rosebud lips complete her lovely face.

Her attire drapes beautifully. She wears a rosary and a pale blue sash around her waist which looks superb against the antique cream of her robe. She is standing on a rock and beneath her foot is a long stemmed red rose.

She has acquired a fabulous antique patination over the years with a little distressing to the paint and plaster and a small chip to the base but she is gorgeous just as she is.

She measures :- H 62 cm (2 ft 0.5 inches) x W 16 cm (6.25 inches) x D 13 cm (5 inches).
