B1318 - SOLD

This is a fabulous antique Italian carved wood mount / pediment  dating from the 1700's. It is very architectural and would look superb on a wall or would be perfect as a central point from which to hang drapes, perhaps over a bed as a ciel de lit.

The pediment is in the 'baroque' style and has a beautiful central scrolled crest with scrolls and curls below and to either side.

The pediment is beautifully water gilded on gesso. The gilding is bright and beautiful and in excellent antique condition.

There are some pin holes in the central section (please see photos) but the pediment is absolutely GORGEOUS just as it is.

The pediment measures:- 62 cm (24.5 inches) wide x 23 cm (9 inches) high x  6 cm (2.3 inches) deep.
