This fabulous pair of antique Italian carved wood gilded angel's wings would have originally come from a church statue dating from the 18th Century. They would now make a stunning architectural feature on a wall or could be displayed on a console table with other architectural treasure.

The wings have a fantastic dramatic shape. They are beautifully carved and have very detailed, three dimensional plumage.

The wings are beautifully water gilded on gesso with subtle hints of the red bole base. Over the years the gilding and gesso have gently distressed to perfection, a superb effect that could not be replicated.

There is evidence that they have had some worm but this has now long gone.

Each wing measures :- 56 cm (22 inches) wide x 18.5 cm (7.25 inches) high.
