B1388 - SOLD

This beautiful antique French pediment would originally have been made for an armoire or bed and dates from the 1800's. It would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on curtain pelmet. It would look superb as part of ciel de lit above a bed or as a crest above a painting. We also have 2 pairs, B1387a & B1387b, of these listed in our other items.

The design is absolutely delightful. There is a central bow crest with ribbon tails  to either side of which is a leaf  and flower bud garland.

The detail in the casting of the metal is fabulous.  The gilding has mellowed over the years to an atmospheric patina but still catches the light beautifully.

The mount has 4 holes to take pins for fixing and  measures 25 cm (9.75 inches) wide x 5 cm (2 inches) high.

A gorgeous mount to add a special château chic finishing touch. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique architectural pieces at La Belle Étoffe.
