This is a beautiful tall antique religious bisque statue of The Madonna & Child dating from the early 1900's and probably originating from Germany. It is very decorative and would make a stunning addition to a religious or vintage display.

The Holy Virgin holds the Infant Jesus in her arms. Upon her head is a gorgeous golden crown. Her face is painted in fine detail and her hair cascades down her back. Her robe falls around her in soft folds. It is in delicious shades of pink and primrose and is painted with beautiful flowers.

The statue is in good antique condition. The bisque has acquired a light overall patina over the years and there is a little wear to the gilding but this does not detract from the beauty of this lovely old piece.

The statue measures :-  38 cm (15 inches) high. The base is 10.25 cm (4 inches) wide x 10 cm (4 inches) deep.
