This is a stunning antique French Art Deco letter rack and matching pen stand dating about 1920. It is a very handsome ensemble and would grace the grandest of executive desks. It is made in Thuya Burl with fabulous graining and colour to the wood.

The letter rack is of typical Art Deco style with lovely domed contours. It has the gorgeous Thuya Burl on all four sides so it could stand in the middle of a desk. It has 3 slots to take letters.

The pen stand has lovely weight and is a pleasure to handle.

The set is in good antique condition with evidence of normal wear. There is a crack in the wood to the top of the back dome (please see photos) but this is stable and does not detract. We have left the wood as we found it but it would polish further if required.

The rack measures :-  27.5 cm (10.75 inches) wide x 16 cm (6.25 inches) high x 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep.

The pen stand measures :- 26.5 cm (10.4 inches) long x 8 cm (3.1 inches) deep x 2 cm (0.75 inches) high.

A gorgeous desk set to use and enjoy and another divine antique French find from la Belle Étoffe!
