This is an impressive pair of antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs in the Rococo style and dating from the 1800's.

They are of a size and gauge to accommodate a substantial pair of  weighty château curtains.

They are hinged so they hang freely from the wall and allow drapes to be secured back in a natural and elegant manner.

The front of the hook has a rose and flower design and the back plate has a beautiful bow and ribbon tail crest.

The gilding to the metal has mellowed over the years to an atmospheric hue. There are still areas which catch the light beautifully and contrast perfectly with the darker patina. 

The tie backs have a strap on the back of the top plate and can be fixed to the wall by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a pin or screw.

They measure :- H 33 cm (13 inches) x W 4.5 cm (1.75 inch) x D 17 cm (6.75 inches).

This is a fabulous pair of curtain tie backs to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French find from La Belle Ètoffe.
