B1526 - SOLDThis is a magnificent antique French brass mirror on a stand dating from the 1800's. It would certainly add a château chic statement to a boudoir or gentleman's dressing room. It is a very substantial piece weighing over 1 kg. The frame is very decorative. It has a laurel leaf wreath crest which is held to either side by an adorable winged cherub. Beneath the feet of each cherub and to either side of the glass plate is a roaring lion's head from which a plethora of scrolls and curls descend to end in a curled foot. At the base of the glass plate is another lion's head. A ram's head to either side of the frame completes this astonishing ensemble. The mirror has a very sturdy stand. The mirror is in good antique condition. The glass plate has a little foxing which just add character to this gorgeous piece. There is one clip missing on the back of the mirror which does not affect it's stability in any way. Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo.
