B1546 - SOLD

This is a spectacular pair of very long antique French hand made filet lace château curtains dating from the 19th Century. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a window.

They are made in a heavy cotton thread. They are long and heavy (each curtain weighs over 2 kg) and drape beautifully.  The central panel is extensively worked in a gorgeous basket of flowers and bow design and around this is a border. Each curtain has fringing at the bottom and a tape at the top sewn with 11 brass rings.

The curtains are in very good antique condition. They are antique white in colour. We have left them as we found them, they have not been laundered. The left hand curtain has a faint mark just above the fringing and two others, all of which we have photographed. These blend in to the design when the curtains are hung against the light but of course the curtains could be laundered. Both curtains have a few pulled and broken threads but absolutely nothing to draw the eye or detract from the appearance of these amazing curtains.

Each curtain measures :- 367 cm (12 ft 0.5 inches) long from the top of the curtain to the bottom of the fringing (not including the rings) x 127 cm (4 ft 2 inches) wide. The brass rings have an internal diameter of 3.5 cm (1.6 inches).

A divine pair of antique French lace curtains to transform a room. They are from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at La Belle Étoffe.

N.B. Any accessories we have used to display the curtains are not included unless otherwise stated.
