This is the most gorgeous antique French Cornely lace curtain / bed throw / panel dating from the 1800's. It is in exceptional antique condition and would look sublime either fluttering at a window or draped across a bed.

The textile is a very fine cotton muslin and is absolutely covered with vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch. There is a central oval design and a beautiful embroidered flower and leaf  border. All the edges are scalloped.

The panel has been laundered and is a lovely snowy white. It is in exceptional antique condition but not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age there are a few very minor characteristics. There are two tiny light marks, a few pin prick holes, a few pulls in the thread and two darns (please see photos). The darns have been meticulously executed and are an art form in themselves! These characteristics in no way draw the eye from the splendour of this gorgeous antique lace panel.

The panel measures :- 250 cm (8 ft 2.5 inches) long x 187 cm (6 ft 1.25 inches) wide.
