This is an impressive large pair of antique French brass curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are in the Empire style and have the face of Neptune on the fascia of the hook.

They are substantial pieces of good quality and weight with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The brass has mellowed to a lovely antique hue but would polish to a shiny finish if required.

The hold backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.

They measure :- H 23.5 cm (9.25 inches) x W 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) x D 18 cm (7 inches).
