This beautiful vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a room. It dates from the mid 1900's  and is a reproduction interpretation of the ancient tapestry 'Verdure aux fées'.

The scene is of a beautiful rural vista with a medieval château in the background. The foreground is dominated by a profusion of lush trees and vegetation within which are 3 pairs of birds. The birds are in a stunning shade of pink which looks superb against the subtle shades of forest green, ochre and teal of the vegetation.

The scene is framed by a border.

The wall hanging is in very good vintage condition. There are one or two tiny pin holes along the top edge where it was once attached to a batten (please see photos).

It measures :- 155 cm (5 ft 1 inches) wide x 75 cm (2 ft 5.5 inches) high.
