This large plumptious antique French hand made silk cushion is one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen! It dates from about 1920 and is in superb antique condition.

The cushion is oval in shape and is made in a silk satin in a fabulous shade of daffodil yellow now faded on the top with the passage of time. When one turns the cushion over one can see the true glorious colour of the silk on the back. The silk is gently gathered around the edge of the cushion giving it a soft and sumptuous look.

Over the silk on the top of the cushion is a central hand worked floral lace panel. This is framed by delicately ruched fine tulle with a floral lace ribbon to the edge. The lace, tulle and ribbon are all in a gorgeous shade of antique cream which looks divine against the faded silk.  

The cushion is plumptious but not overly filled thus allowing it to sit perfectly.

The cushion is in excellent antique condition. There is one tiny tear in the tulle (please see photos).

The cushion measures :- 70 cm (27.5 inches) wide x 57 cm (22.5 inches) high and is 11 cm (4.25 inches) thick.

This is a gorgeous cushion to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
