This is a sublime antique French religious wax plaque in a frame. The subject is the Madonna & Child moulded in relief.  It is a very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to a religious display.

Mary is very beautiful and serene. She smiles contentedly as she holds her gorgeous child to her cheek.  Her mantle drapes beautifully around her head.

Jesus has lovely curly hair and a sweet smiling face. Both Mother and Child are blessed with a lovely halo. The sepia coloured wax adds to the simplicity of the piece.

The plaque sits in a gilded wooden frame which compliments it perfectly. It has a loop on the back for hanging purposes.

The plaque in it's frame measures :- 23 cm (9.1 inches) high x 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide x approx 5 cm (2 inches) deep.
