B1644 - SOLDThis heavenly long antique French lace curtain dates from the 19th Century. It is light and frothy and would be the perfect delicate finishing touch to a period window. The textile is a beautiful spotted voile. It has a lovely sprigged flower and leaf design defined in Cornely lace chain stitch and infilled using a Richelieu lace appliqué technique - just gorgeous! The top of the curtain is lightly ruched onto a curtain tape. The bottom of the curtain is hemmed. The curtain is white. It has survived the years in very good antique condition. There are one or two rust spots on the curtain tape and after a very thorough search we have found just two tiny holes in the voile (please see photos). The curtain measures :- 290 cm (9 ft 6 inches) long x 98 cm (3 ft 2.5 inches) wide across the top and 170 cm (5 ft 7 inches) across the bottom. A divine antique French lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique textile find from La Belle Étoffe. Please note that the clips & tie back we have used to display the curtain are not included. Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo. SOLD
