B1650 - SOLD

This is a stunning antique French printed cotton curtain dating from the 19th Century. We also have a long panel, B1651, and a smaller panel, B1652, of the same fabric listed in our other items.

The top of the curtain is lightly ruched onto a tape. The bottom is hemmed and the selvedges form the sides. There is a seam down the middle.

The print is formed by a plethora of flower and leaf bouquets. These are linked with garlands and tendrils upon which little hirondelles perch and around which butterflies flutter - just lovely!

The colours are a wonderful combination of greys and pinks on a cherry red background.

The textile is crisp and clean. There are just two small faint marks towards the top of the curtain (please see photos).

The curtain measures :- 236 cm (7 ft 9 inches) long x 145 cm (4 ft 9 inches) across the top & 160 cm (5 ft 3 inches) across the bottom.
