B1657 - SOLD

This is a beautiful vintage French souvenir seashell jewellery box dating around 1950. It would probably have been bought as a keepsake from a visit to the seaside. It is full of charm and would be perfect in a shabby chic boudoir. 

The box is covered in a myriad of seashells including some tiny pink and blue ones which are so very pretty. The glaze has darkened over the years to give the box it's 'always been there' look.

The lid lifts up on tiny hinges to reveal a red leatherette interior and a round mirror - just lovely.

The box is in good vintage condition. There are a few shells missing from the sides in the area just under the lid but this does not detract from it's beauty.

It measures :- 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide x 10.5 cm (4.1 inches) deep  x 9 cm  (3.5 inches) high.

A lovely box to use and enjoy and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
