B1670 - SOLD

This beautiful antique French pediment would originally have come from an armoire and dates from the 1800's. It would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains. It would also look superb on a console table displayed with other architectural treasures or over a painting. We also have the pair to this, B1669, listed in our other items.

The pediment is made of gilded metal. It has a stunning central crest from which a laurel leaf garland extends to either side.

The gilding has mellowed over the years to a gorgeous atmospheric bronze.

There are 4 holes in the mount for attaching to a wall.

The mount measures:- 51.5 cm (20.25 inches) wide x 13.5 cm (5.25 inches) high.
