This is a beautiful antique French glass casket dating from the 1800's.  It would be superb for displaying a treasured piece of jewellery and is the perfect size to sit on a dressing table in a château chic boudoir.

The casket sits on 4 fabulous gilded repoussé lion's feet with acanthus leaf embellishment. The box is lozenge in shape and has thick bevelled claw set glass to the 4 sides and the lid. The frame of the box is made from gilded metal and the lid has a scrolled clasp.

The bottom of the casket has a buttoned silk pad in a sublime shade of olive. The silk is in good condition with no wear, just a little darkening with the passage of time.

The casket is sturdy and in good antique condition.

It measures :-  11.5 cm (4.5 inches) wide x 9.5 cms (3.75 inches) high x 7.25 cm (2.8 inches) deep.
