This is a stunning large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging with a pastoral château scene. It is after ' Le Lignon'  an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry in the 'Verdures fines' series. It is woven in incredible detail and texture. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with a magnificent château in the background. In the foreground is a beautiful blue pool with a weir. The pool is surrounded by a profusion of lush vegetation including two stunning trees each harbouring a brightly coloured bird.  Two beautiful white herons take centre stage and complete the fabulous scene.

All this splendour is framed in a decorative border.

The colours are beautiful greens, ochres and blues with highlights of  burgundy and pink in the birds and flowers.

The tapestry is of excellent quality and is woven in cotton. It is in superb vintage condition. It is lined and has fixtures at the back for hanging purposes.

It measures :- 185 cm (6 ft 0.75 inches) wide x 126 cm (4 ft 1.5 inches ) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
