B1693 - Divine Pair Antique French Acanthus Leaf Gilded Curtain Tie / Hold Backs, 19th Century

This is a divine pair of  antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's.  They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

The fascia of the hook and the backplate have a gorgeous scrolled acanthus leaf design.

The gilding on the metal has subtly mellowed over the years whilst still retaining golden highlights which catch the light beautifully .

The hold backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure :- H 14 cm (5.5 inches) x W 4.5 cm (1.75 inches).  They are bent at slightly different angles so one has a depth of 10 cm (4 inches) and the other a depth of 12 cm (4,75 inches).
