This is a superb antique French brass door knocker set dating from the 19th Century. It would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a front door.

It is in the shape of a hand and is beautifully detailed. It has a ring on one of the fingers and there is a frilled cuff and bracelet to the wrist. The clasped fingers form the actual knocker.

The back bracket from which the hand is hinged has a decorative border.

The knocker has it's original flower shaped plate against which it hammers. Both the knocker itself and the plate have a threaded bolt for fixing to the door.

The knocker measures :- 12.5 cm (5 inches) high x 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) wide x 5 cm (2 inches) deep.

The knocker plate measures 5 cm (2 inches) diameter.
