B1715 - Exquisite Antique French Painting, Velvet & Brass Frame, Crest & Embellishments

This is the most exquisite little antique French painting in an equally exquisite frame. The combination is gorgeous.

The painting is beautifully executed and dates about 1920. The subject is a beautiful girl with huge eyes, pink cheeks and a lovely smile. She wears her blonde hair in a style popular of the era.

The frame dates a little earlier than the painting and is truly is amazing. It has a decorative brass surround and a stunning laurel garland crest. The central aperture containing the painting has a fine brass border. Between this and the outer surround is velvet in a lovely champagne hue.

The velvet is decorated with beautiful finely made ormolu embellishments. Above the painting is a sweet little bow and below it is a flower garland swag. Further flower garlands adorn the top two corners and two very fine embellishments adorn each side.

The back of the frame has a little wooden stand and there is a loop for hanging.

The frame measures :- 21 cm (8.25 inches) high including the crest x 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide.
The aperture with the painting measures :- 9.75 cm (3.9 inches) high x 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) wide.
