This beautiful antique French château curtain / drape dates about 1910. It is made in the most gorgeous linen with a basket of roses design. It is very long and would be the perfect finishing touch to a tall window perhaps in a salon or boudoir.

The linen is textured and has a champagne coloured background with vertical moiré bands. It has good weight and hangs beautifully.

The roses are in sublime shades of pink and are mixed with little blue flowers and pale green leaves. The baskets are suspended from a blue ribbon with a beautiful bow crest. The vignettes are linked with rose garlands - just lovely.

The curtain is lined and has 5 hooks to the top.

We have left the curtain as we found it, it has not been dry cleaned. It is in good antique condition and would look beautiful hung just as it is. There are one or two characteristics of age. There is a watermark across the curtain about 70 cm down from the top and a line down the right hand side where it may have been turned back or subjected to the sun. None of this draws the eye or detracts from the beauty of this gorgeous curtain. Please see all the photos.

The curtain measures :- 279 cm (9 ft 2 inches) long x 77 cm (2 ft 6.25 inches) wide.
