This is a charming antique French hand made lace curtain / throw dating about 1900. It would look lovely at a window or across a bed.

The curtain is made in a cotton filet lace in a lovely antique cream. It has been beautifully hand worked in a thick cotton thread with a fabulous design. There are 4 gorgeous winged cherubs, the central one of which is holding aloft a large basket brimming with roses and flowers. There is a beautiful rose garland hanging from this around which the other 3 cherubs hover - just lovely.

The curtain is clean and in good antique condition. There are a few broken threads. There is one particular area under the right hand cherub's feet (please see photos) where I find 9 broken threads over an area of about 20 cm ( 8 inches). These do not affect the stability of the piece or draw the eye in any way.

The curtain measures :- 239 cm (7 ft 10 inches) long x 128 cm (3 ft 10.5 inches) wide.

A lovely filet lace curtain / throw to add an authentic antique French finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
