This is a divine pair of antique French heavy cotton cretonne curtains / drapes in the most gorgeous floral design in a stunning colour combination. They date around 1920 / 30. They are superb as they are or there is masses of textile to incorporate into any number of  interiors projects. For example the textile is heavy enough for upholstery and could be used to cover a chair.

The textile is of good weight (each curtain weighs nearly 2 kg). It has a gorgeous olive green background with stunning floral vignettes in vibrant shades of pink, yellow, green & blue which look superb against the olive background.

The curtains are finished all round and have hooks to the top. They are lined with a similar weight cotton cretonne with a brown floral design on a beige background. The lining has faded in places over the years and there are one or two areas of  wear but it is still functional.

As with the lining, the fronts of the curtains do have some characteristics of age. There is some wear and fading to both sides of each curtain to a maximum of 6 cm (2.4 inches) in from the edge. These edges could be cut and hemmed back and the lining changed or just removed to make a pair of curtains in very good vintage condition or the curtains could be left as they are and still look fabulous.

The textile has no obvious marks. The curtains are as we found them and have not been dry cleaned.

Each curtain measures :- 230 cm (7 ft 6.5 inches ) long x 125 cm (4 ft 1.25 inches) wide.
