This is a superb antique French religious prayer card semainier dating from the 19th Century. It is made in gilded metal and is very decorative and architectural. It would be perfect for a special niche.

The semainier is made in the style of Gothic church architecture. It has a central spire crest with a steeple to either side. It has 7 slots to take a prayer card for each day. The slots are labelled with the letter of each day - Lundi, Mardi, Mercredi, Jeudi, Vendredi, Samedi & Dimanche.

There is a loop at the top for hanging purposes.

The semainier measures :- 14 cm (5.5 inches) high x 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) wide.
