B1766 - SOLDThis is a gorgeous long antique French tapestry château curtain dating from the 19th Century. It would add an authentic finishing touch to a period home and certainly help to keep the draughts out. The textile is a cotton tapestry weave. The design and colour combination are to die for. There are basket of flower vignettes connected with ribbons, bows and flower garlnds - just lovely. The flowers are in shades of mauve and pink which look superb against the soft green background. The curtain is hemmed to the bottom ( a little unevenly) and has a raw edge to the top. The sides are formed by the selvedge of the textile. It is not lined. The curtain is clean and fresh. The tapestry textile is in good sound condition with no wear. I can just see one or two minor pulls and a slightly faded line at the top right hand side (please see photos). The curtain measures:- 266 cm (8 ft 8.75 inches) long x 118 cm (3 ft 10.5 inches) wide. A gorgeous antique French curtain to add an authentic château chic statement and another superb period French textile find from La Belle Étoffe. N.B.
