B1776 - Fabulous Antique Italian Gilded Wood Wall Display Plinth / Shelf / Socle 19th Century

This fabulous 19th Century antique Italian display shelf  / plinth would be perfect to create a special niche for a treasured piece. We also have it's pair, B1777, listed in our other items.

It is carved in wood and is gilded. The shelf has a slim wood back with an arched  top. The shape of the plinth and the gilding of the background forms the perfect medium to display a piece to it's full advantage.

The plinth has a metal loop to the back for hanging. It is sturdy.

The gilding gives off a wonderful golden glow and shows delicious hints of the red bole beneath. It has distressed a little in places and has been 'touched up' a little over the years but it is gorgeous just as it is (please see photos).

The plinth measures :- 50 cm (19.7 inches) high x 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide x 13 cm (5.1 inches) deep.
The display area is :- 28 cm (11 inches) high x 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) wide.

This is a fabulous gilded shelf / plinth to enhance a special piece and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
