B1803 - SOLD

This is an exquisite antique triptyque dating from the 1800's. It is made in wood and porcelain and is of superb quality. It is very decorative and architectural and is the perfect size to sit on a bedside table.

The frame and doors of the triptyque are made in intricately carved wood fretwork. There is a central leaf crest and the feet are formed by leaf scrolls with a central flower.

The doors each have a tiny brass hinge. They open to reveal a beautiful lancet shaped porcelain plaque with the image of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus
depicted in glorious colour and detail. Mary clasps her child to her. She is dressed in a fabulous red gown with a blue bodice and sleeves. See the delicacy of her mantle and her lovely long hair.

The triptyque stands on a hinged wooden back rest. It is stamped 'Champéry' on the back. It is in good antique condition with just a few worm holes (please see photos) which are stable.

It measures :- 17.5 cm (6.8 inches) high x 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide x 3 cm (1.1 inches) deep when flat.

This is a fabulous religious piece to display and use and another divine antique  brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
