B1820 - Sublime Small Antique French Religious Glazed Wall Cupboard / Vitrine 19th C

This is a sublime tiny antique French wall hanging glazed cupboard / vitrine dating from the 19th Century. It is wonderfully decorative and would have been made to display a figurine of the Virgin Mary. We have photographed it with our own gilded spelter Virgin Mary (not included).

The cupboard is made in a dark varnished wood probably mahogany. To the top is a pediment with gilded highlights and flowers and above that is a central round finial.

The bottom of the cupboard is shaped and also has a decorative finial.

The door is glazed and has two little hinges and a catch.

The interior of the cupboard has it's original old paint in a gorgeous atmospheric shade of turquoise.

There is a metal loop on the back for hanging.

The cupboard is in sturdy antique condition. The wood has scuffed and cracked a little in places but all is sound.

It measures :- 51 cm (20 inches) high x 20.75 cm (8.2 inches) wide x 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) deep.
The glass display area is :- 22.5 cm (8.8 inches) high x 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide.

A gorgeous little vitrine for a contemplative niche and another divine antique French brocante find from La Belle Étoffe.
