B1825 - Gorgeous Pair Long Antique French Spotted Tulle Curtains / Drapes With Frills
This is a gorgeous pair of antique French spotted tulle curtains dating from the early 1900's. They are very long and would look heavenly fluttering at a château window.
The textile is a very fine white cotton tulle machine embroidered with large spots. The leading edges and bottoms of the curtains are trimmed with a lace ribbon from which a frill of tulle flounces.
The tops of the curtains are sewn with metal rings.
We have left the curtains as we found them. They are clean and are in good usable antique condition. Not surprisingly however, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, the curtains have acquired some characteristics. There is one small dark mark on the outer edge of the left hand curtain (which may launder out) and there are a few minor repairs and remaining pin holes also on the left hand curtain. Please view all the photos. None of these characteristics affect the usability or beauty of these lovely antique curtains.
Each curtain measures :- 280 cm (9 ft 2.25 inches) long including the frill x 102 cm (3 ft 4.1 inches) wide not including the frill. The frill is 15 cm (5.9 inches) long.
A divine frothy pair of tulle curtains to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
Please note that the clips & tie backs we have used to display the curtains are not included.
