This is an exquisite antique French Cornely lace pelmet dating from the 1800's. It is very long and would be divine incorporated into any number of interior projects. For example around a bed or over a pair of curtains.

The textile is a soft very fine cotton tulle. The tulle is gently gathered onto a tape at the top of the pelmet. The bottom of the pelmet is scalloped. The whole pelmet is extensively embroidered with floral vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch.

The pelmet is antique white in colour. It is in good useable antique condition but not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age there are some characteristics. There are a few tiny specks, some minor repairs and a scattering of tiny holes. Please view all the photos. None of these characteristics draw the eye from the splendour of this gorgeous antique lace pelmet.

The pelmet measures :- 303 cm (9 ft 11.25 inches) long at the top x 66 cm (2 ft 2 inches) high.
