This is a beautiful antique French gilded gesso on wood picture frame dating from the 19th Century. It would be perfect to add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a painting.

The frame has gorgeous moulded flowers to the rounded corners. The aperture has decorative beading and is bordered with water gilding which catches the light beautifully.

We have left the frame as we found it. It is sturdy. There is a little cracking and one chip to the gesso (please see photos) but all is stable.

The frame measures :- 43.75 cm (17.25 inches) x 39 cm (15.3 inches) .
The aperture measures :- 29.25 cm (11.5 inches) x 24.75 cm (9.75 inches) .

An exceptional frame to add a château chic finishing touch to a picture or to just display and enjoy for it's fantastic architectural looks. Another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
