B1853 - SOLD

This is a fabulous large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from the early to mid 1900's. It has a bucolic waterside scene and is after an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with three magnificent trees and an architectural fountain to the foreground. In the background is a stunning château set against a backdrop of mountains. A beautiful river wends it's way through this stunning scene.

All around is a profusion of lush vegetation. The colours are restful shades of teal, green and brown.

The tapestry is woven in cotton. It is lined and has fixtures on the back for hanging purposes.

We have left it as we found it. It is in good vintage condition. There are a few pulls in the bottom left hand corner (please see photos) but they do not draw the eye. It has not been dry cleaned.

The tapestry measures :- 180 cm (5 ft 10.9 inches) wide x 142 cm (4 ft 7.9 inches ) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.

N.B. - The clips we have used to hang the tapestry are not included.
