This is a fabulous large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from the early to mid 1900's. It has a bucolic waterside scene and is after an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with two magnificent trees and an architectural folly to the foreground. In the background is a village set against a mountain backdrop with a castle atop. A beautiful river wends it's way through this stunning scene.

All around is a profusion of lush vegetation. The colours are restful shades of teal, green and brown.

The tapestry is woven in cotton and has fixtures on the back for hanging purposes.

We have left it as we found it. It is in good vintage condition. It has not been dry cleaned.

The tapestry measures :- 183 cm (6 ft) wide x 139 cm (4 ft 6.75 inches) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
