B1887 - SOLD

This stunning antique French painted wood pediment would originally have come from an armoire or mirror and dates from the 1800's.

It is a fabulously decorative architectural piece and would look superb over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains.

The pediment is very substantial and three dimensional. It has a stunning carved crowned head crest with beautiful carved scrolls and curls beneath.

The paint has an antique cream hue with gentle distressing.

The pediment is in good antique condition. There are a few worm holes and the tip of the right hand 'shoulder' has been lost at some stage over the years but this does not detract.

There is a metal loop on the back for hanging.

The pediment measures :- 74.75  cm (29.4 inches) wide x 26.25 cm (10.3 inches) high.

This is a substantial and decorative piece to add authentic château chic glamour to an interior and another divine antique French brocante find from La Belle Étoffe.
