This is an impressive pair of  large antique French gilded metal curtain pole holders in the Empire style and dating from the 1800's. They are very sturdy and would  add a truly stunning finishing touch to a substantial château curtain ensemble.

Each holder has a rest to take the pole. The rest is supported on a sturdy strut which connects to the backplate.

The back plates of the holders each have a slot and a screw hole for fixing to a wall.

The gilding on the metal has mellowed over the years to an old gold hue.

Each pole holder measures :- H 28 cm (11 inches) x W 6 cm (2.3 inches) x D 14.5 cm (5.75 inches).
