B1909 - SOLD

This is a beautiful antique French stair newel post finial (Boule d'Escalier) dating from the 19th Century. It would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a hall or landing.

The finial has a gorgeous blue crystal ball held on a brass base.

The glass is full of lovely bubbles. There is one large bubble at the top which gives the appearance of a chip but it is not. The glass is smooth and the bubble was formed during the glass making process.

The brass base is cast with images of the chasse. The brass has worn and patinated to perfection with the passage of time.

The base has a screw for fixing to a post.

The finial measures:- 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) high (not including the screw) x approx. 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide. The base plate is 6 cm (2.3 inches) in diameter.

A superb stair finial to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
