B1938 - SOLD

This is a fabulous large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from  mid 1900's. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with rolling hills in the background and  magnificent trees to the foreground. All around is a profusion of lush vegetation.

The colours are stunning shades of ochre, green and brown.

The tapestry is woven in cotton. It is lined  and has a pocket on the back for hanging on a pole.

It is is in good vintage condition and measures :- 172 cm (5 ft 7.75 inches) wide x 137 cm (4 ft 5.9 inches) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add a château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.

N.B. - The clips and pole we have used to hang the tapestry are not included.
